Things that may seem arbitrary to outsiders could lead Trickett to the tipping point that allows him to develop into the next Seminole great behind center. He may have to wait one more season to receive the keys to the offense; however, he has already taken the appropriate steps off the field to be a starter.

There is no particular order to the troubles the Seminoles were beginning to face in , but since Rix was so often blamed for the falling fortunes of Florida State the quarterback situation is a good place to start.
