What is the difference between the eotech 512 and 517

So it is out of the question. An Eotech is similar, just without the 7mm riser. I kind of want to keep my night vision options open. The is curved and raised to fit over standard handguards without a mount. This also gives you the QD option which I think is nice for optics.

It seems having the irons centered would be better The whole "eye wants to center things" everyone preaches about aperture sights would come into play here, right? I see That makes sense. Now I'm on the fence as to which optic I want to get. What are the pro's and con's with each of the two mentioned optic's? I'm going to use a rear A2 sight that will always be there and not be a flip up sight.

We have never had an Aimpoint go down. I am sure it will happen someday, but it still hasn't. For the price, I would definitly buy the aimpoint.

I own one and have never regretted it. One of the best rear sites on the market today is the magpul flip up rear site.
